About me

English

(This means: Run away! Exit! Leave! Go travel!) This is, what a voice in my head once told me. And soon it became to loud to ignore it. That’s when I took all my courage, quit my job in the advertising agency, packed my backpack, tossed my worries to the wind and started travelling. That was 2008. Since then I’m a travel blogger, travel book author and a travel addict. The voice in my head gets louder with every trip.

This blog intends to tell about the miracles of our planet, the most stunning places in this world, about life-changing travel mates, experiences and destinations. It should motivate, inspire and entertain. I believe that travelling makes us to better persons since we get to know different people, cultures and ways of thinking. And we learn to understand and tolerate different ways of living. This is the only way our world is going to stay a place worth to travel. I want to share my stories to make travel preparation easier and reduce travel fever. They are not supposed to be benchmark, but to increase your wanderlust. They shall give courage to dare the journey. And they are supposed to wake up the voice in your head that shouts: Reis’ aus.

By the way, I am Lena, 29 years old. I have worked as a copywriter in the best german advertising agencies – and I even got the chance to write for GEO SAISON (a well known travel mag). I have quit my job again and again anyways. Now I’m working self-dependently, that way I can travel more often and am able to write about the topic that matters most to me. And I tell you one little secret: My long trips have always been a door-opener to my jobs instead of a reason for refusal.

Very soon I will publish a book in addition to this blog: “Reis’ aus. The essentials of travelling. A guide from A to Z”. It will make the first step of a journey easier and accompany you from departure to return. It is an inspiring manual, a handy guide, a personal notebook – and along the way it tells instructional stories from my blog. All profits of the book will be donated to projects that stand up for the protection of humans, animals and natural environment. Since I have not written this book to profit from it. I have written it, because I love to write and I adore to travel. Because I want to enrich young people with the joy of travelling. Because I want to prove that a good time is more valuable than money. I will keep you posted right here where the donations go and tell you about the projects that are realized with them.

No matter if by reading the blog or the book (or both), I would be more than happy if I encouraged you to Reis’ aus. Tell me about it. And visit me on Pinterest and Instagram. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts, ideas and comments. And if you want to help me on my mission, tell people about it. Let’s keep the world a place worth to travel together.
